I’ve been reminiscing over some of my most memorable photography moments lately, and this one certainly tops the list. Photographing Lennon’s birth into the world this past July was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After watching Crystal labour for hours, a nurse suddenly realized that baby was frank breech and a c-section would be needed. I was blown away at the doctor and anesthesiologist’s approval of allowing me into the operating room to photograph the delivery. While I was initially told to stand behind Crystal and Nick during the c-section, a doctor suddenly called me over on the other side of the curtain to capture Lennon being welcomed into the world- bum first!
Thank you, Crystal and Nick, for allowing me to share in such an intimate and incredible moment in your life. Lennon will always hold a special place in my heart <3
In between contractions, and before getting her epidural, Crystal grabbed my camera and snapped this shot of Nick and I in our scrubs!
Here she is! Lennon arriving tushy first! I love that you can see the nurse pointing to me to capture it!
Don’t you just love those frank breech legs?!
Two proud grandmother’s looking on <3
