Someone definitely takes after her big sister with the most adorable squishy cheeks and an incredible full head of hair <3 Sweet Aliya visited the studio when she was 3.5 weeks old, just like her sister did back in December 2016, and let me tell you something- these girls do not disappoint! Some photographers’ have a strict age cut off for newborn sessions and shy away from older babies (because 3 weeks is SO old *insert eye roll*), but I embrace these little bundles at any age! Sometimes it’s just a matter of setting expectations. “Older” newborns may not be as sleepy, and may not be as squishy and flexible, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t deserving of having their portraits taken! I absolutely LOVE the eye contact I am often able to capture from older babies during an awake period. Sweet Aliya definitely had her alert moments, but she also slept so soundly once her tummy was full, that I was able to capture a variety of poses in a short amount of time. Take a peek through some of my favourites from this spring-inspired newborn session.
